When it comes to using the cable ties outdoors in UV exposure applications there a few factors to consider. UV rated and UV resistant are two different ratings. When most ties show they are UV rated this is due to the color additive added to make the ties black in color is naturally UV rated. UV resistant ties will have a much longer lifespan and will not wick up the moisture to cause them to become brittle and break down due to long term outdoor exposure.
